Welcome to the website for the 29th Judicial Circuit of Alabama.  It is our goal that this website serves as a source for valuable information concerning your court system.

The 29th Judicial Circuit is located in east central Alabama and consists of Talladega County. Talladega County is the 19th most populous county in Alabama with approximately 80,000 citizens to serve. Talladega County is also a large county geographically with a total area of 760 square miles.  The county seat is located in Talladega and houses "The Judicial Building" which was built in 1974.  The city of Sylacauga hosts the southern division of our court system and has a fully operational courthouse.  the Sylacauga Annex was built in 1964 and completely remodeled in 2003. The 29th Judicial Circuit serves citizens from many communities that include: Alpine, Bon Air, Childersburg, Fayetteville, Lincoln, Munford, Oak Grove, Sycamore, Sylacauga, Talladega, Waldo and Winterboro.  In addition, a smaller portion of Eastaboga and Oxford lie in the northern jurisdiction of Talladega County. 

The 29th Judicial Circuit has two circuit judges and two district judges.  In 2019, there were 2206 new circuit court cases filed and the breakdown was as follows:  837 Criminal, 822 Civil, 547 Domestic.  For the same year, there were 10,374 new District Court cases filed and the breakdown was as follows:  1705 Criminal, 4215 Traffic, 2316 Small Claims, 509 Civil, 1135 Juvenile, 494 Child Support.

Please note that all probate court matters, drivers license division, property tax, tag registration as well as the Talladega County Commission offices are located in the Talladega County Courthouse located on the Historic Square in Talladega (in close proximity to the Judicial Building).
